Chelation Therapy

What is Chelation Therapy

In chelation therapy, a dose of a medication called ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is delivered into your bloodstream through an intravenous (IV) line. This medication seeks out and binds to toxic metal  in your bloodstream. Once the medication binds , it creates a compound that leaves your body in your urine. Thus clearing toxic metals from your body.

Who needs Chelation Treatment?

In our modern world, we are constantly exposed to toxins from everything we eat, use and do. From hygiene products to foods and even to medications which are prescribed to us! All these chemicals, put a drain on the body’s clearing house, primarily the liver and over time, the clean up process gets slower. This increases the accumulation of toxins in our cells – especially fat cells – and puts a constant strain on our system.  Thus, Chelation is not only for people that have tested positive for toxic metals on a blood or urine test, but for anybody that has chronic illness.

During a 6 year retrospective study of 470 patients in Denmark who received EDTA - 65 of whom were on a waiting list to get CABG - only 7 needed the procedure after chelation therapy. Of the 27 patients scheduled for amputation due to peripheral vascular disease, only 3 needed surgery after chelation.
